Scarlet Elf Cup

This bright red fungus is hard to miss if you look in the right areas. It grows on decaying sticks, branches in damp spots (plenty of those) and beneath leaf litter on the woodland floor.

According to Google this tasty mushroom can be found from December to March when there aren't many other fungi around.

Not only did sis and I have coffee in the Burrell this morning we shared a rather delicious, freshly baked scone. It was very dull but the rain stayed off till late in the afternoon.
