Irritating day
Checked tracking. No update.
Went to post office (I knew the owner of the asa I painted wanted to take her to a doll meet on saturday, so dragged the nut to the post office with bribes of chocolate and park games) and this arrive 10 mins after we left!! And the driver gets back too late to get it from the depot tonight so .... Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
Since I had nothing to wait in for and was sulking, I took the nut for his hour at big school. He likes the play area. He likes the library. He likes the classrooms and playgrounds. He does not like insane music lady's music class
Last week I had a little panic because the mums were so middle class and took thier kids to mini maestro classes anyway. But then I realised that crappy shoddy parents like me are probably skiving all these optional classes anyway. That week the nut whispered to me 'how much longer?' and the middle class mum to my left said 'oh, he doesn't like music' to which I suppressed that answer 'he loves music, but actual music. Not horrible noise'
This week before we went into the class he said 'music again?!?' But he's a good sport and joined in (with his fingers in his ears) until the end point where she tried to make him dance to some Ricky Martin style tune. Which he flat out refused to do.
I tried to be encouraging but I can remember first school and I can remember these types of lessons and I can remember finding them demeaning even then. It's in his genes. We put loud music on and dance all the time at home. We play drumming together, a favourite. The problem isn't us. It's definitely the others.
If I felt anything at my failure, I was a little pang of pride. One of the other mothers was sure she had spoken to me at one of the toddler groups. 'No. Not us. We don't do toddler groups. Probably swimming' I assure her.
