Duchess of Padua
After our usual Friday swim, Sarah & I headed up to London for a few adventures.
First off was a visit to the Museum of London Docklands. We didn't give ourselves enough time to see it all so another visit will be required. What we managed to see was very interesting.
After the museum, we headed to the pub that is owned by Sir Ian McKellen, The Grapes in Limehouse. We passed the pub last month while walking the Thames Path from Tower Hill to Leamouth but it was shut so had promised ourselves to visit when possible. Another East London gem of a pub.
When we were walking the Thames Path last month, we also came across The Space (Community Arts Space) on the Isle of Dogs. Intrigued, and a little bit thirsty, we had a look inside, had a coffee & cake and I picked up their What's On listing. Looking at the programme, I decided that we needed to "get more culture" so booked to see the opera version of Oscar Wilde's play, The Duchess of Padua at The Space. Both Sarah & I thoroughly enjoyed the performance this evening.
All in all, our Thamses Path walk has opened up a number of interesting things to do and see.
