Sleet and flowers

The day began with a vivid sunrise, glimpsed as I went downstairs to make an early cup of tea. Clouds and sleet followed, and then blue skies by late afternoon.  None of this is discouraging Clematis Armandii from romping into action on the garden fence.
The head cold/miscellaneous virus that I felt coming on earlier in the week really got into its stride today, bringing coughs and a streaming nose.  So I cancelled arrangements and stayed indoors in the warm. And had a therapeutic afternoon nap. I hope this will do the trick.
