(these are my rowing buddies - only a couple still get in and out of boats, few want to land the butt and then stand, or even go to knees and rise using an oar for support - have seen it all - if you cannot get out with one leg in the "stirrup" and then rise to standing, step onto dock and on you go - well many of us think it is time to retire)
