mini outing

This afternoon Bro and I went to a veterinary practice in Witham (some eight miles away).  Our mission - to take Tortie, recently out of hibernation, for a general checkup with this vet who was recommended as a tortoise specialist. The vet was lovely, knowledgeable and inexpensive - a winning combination.  Whilst there, I spoke to a practice receptionist about the paperwork I need to get Rufus back to Turkey - quicker and cheaper than the other vet I've spoken to - and so it begins. 

Driving home, a mini queue at a roundabout and Gareth made me laugh out loud when he said how much he hates traffic jams - never go to Istanbul bro! 

Friday night fun at the Gardeners pub for fish 'n'chips and a couple of pints of Greene King IPA.  Btw, congrats to the landlord and his team as the pub was recognised as Greene King Proper Locals Cask Ale Pub of the Year at the Greene King Pubs Conference at the Birmingham NEC a few days ago.
