I rather liked the very neat curve she made of her menagerie. She was most pleased that the penguin had joined the crew today.
The older girls slept well and I managed to get Isobel to her first session, gymnastics, on time at 9.00am - much to my relief. Back home and I prepared the veg for dinner then back out to pick up Isobel and bring her home for the requested beans on toast for lunch. By the time we'd got back Ali and the little girls had arrived.
They were all delighted to spend time together. While Colin dropped Isobel at dancing, Eilidh agreed to do her violin practice. Josie was pleased that Eilidh was going to play her Twinkle Twinkle but we were all taken aback when after just two notes Josie burst into tears. The sound must have been unexpected and the firm strokes of the bow can be loud. Eventually though she agreed to touch the violin and to feel the strings too. Eilidh then played it again and this time, although looking anxious, She Josie joined in with singing the last line. We sang it through again and then she asked for Baa Baa Black Sheep which Eilidh manfully attempted by ear.
Ali was pleased that Josie had coped with her fear and that Eilidh had not been put off by Josie's reaction.
