Witch's "Leap" after Rain

See LARGE.

I have posted a picture of Witch's Leap before but not after a period of prolonged rain. One gets to this location through the usual temperate rainforest with heavy overhead canopy, down a narrow but rugged rocky gorge. The track slopes fairly steeply but quite manageably. The walking surface isn't VERY soggy here because it is relatively well drained into a myriad of little rivulets which rush inexorably downhill under walkway bridges and through rocky fissures.

This location is many kilometres away from yesterday's Leura Cascades and the waterway systems are entirely separate. It is a decent hike down here but quite safe. No matter what time of year or day - no matter what the weather conditions, the environment is infused with a quite eerie style of light. On overcast and/or misty days like today, the area is rather dark but still very beautiful.

This particular fall of water descends about 50 metres from what is only a very slight part time water course at the clifftop. This rock formation, upon which the stream falls, is relatively famous however and is reckoned to resemble a fairy story style "evil witch".
