A concrete love affair

100,000 miles!

Finally reached this incredible 100,000 mile milestone - after 2576 days of ownership! Never let me down, never phoned the AA, never paid a penny in road tax and its never needed any form of mechanical repair. You can easily achieve 60mpg around town AND on the motorway, between March and November last year not a single tank averaged below 55mpg (many above 60). Its on the same set of front brakes I first drove it home with (50% worn). Unbelievably it actually drives better now than when I first got it.

I guess all of these are quite middleaged attributes, I know its only a mainstream Japanese hatchback and it probably makes the archetypal Dads car, a Passat TDI, seem about as sensible as a D-Reg Fiesta with a bass box in the boot…. But just look at the unrivalled itinerary!

Sixmilebridge to Syców, Perth to Poznań, Stoney Stanton to Sroda, Warszawa to Waterford, Dűsseldorf to Dublin, Berlin to Bude, Kőln to Kylesku, Plymouth to Peterhead, Falmouth to the Far North, Antwerpen to Zaspa! 7 countries in total
