Borders Potato Day
BOG, or Borders Organic Gardeners, organise an annual potato sale and this year was back to pre-pandemic levels of busyness. By the time we got there, some varieties were already sold out and the place was packed. Everyone had big bags full of spuds. Looks like someone was interviewing folk for the local radio.
They also sell onions and there are lots of stalls selling organic produce and handmade crafts. As well as the (many) tatties, we also brought home apple juice, sausage pieces, a cherry pie, Jersey cow cream, and a sticky gingerbread loaf that I always associate with childhood holidays near Kelso.
Two extras are from Hume, where we stopped for a muddy walk on the way home. A lovely red field, freshly ploughed, and the inside of the castle.
