Culinary challenge

A disastrous morning in the kitchen and a calming dog walk made up the first half of my day. The second half was spent socialising with friends which involved testing our brains and our hand-eye coordination through various quiz questions, indoor golf putting and indoor bowls. In between these testing activities devised by our hosts,  we enjoyed a range of food and drink which we all contributed to. I was wishing that I had snapped a blip of the bowling but I was too late in thinking about that. Instead, here is a shot of our dessert course, including my culinary challenge from the morning. The recipe was for a toffee apple pie but, in my opinion, it resembled the recent Icelandic lava flow rather than a pie!
