Unhappy apple tree

This apple tree does not like to produce apples, so I asked a kind person online if he could help. He asked for a photo of the offending tree. And here it is as I knew fellow blippers would be excited beyond belief to see such an underwhelming species.

I do not know the species which I planted about five years ago along with another dwarf tree which can be seen on the right of the picture. That tree, a James Grieve fruits prolifically, but it's neighbour does not. Strange.

Not a very exciting photo though which was taken on a dull damp morning.
