Spring Dipping

Spring snow and sunshine, with Crummock  bluer than the sky above and frisked with ripples that wanted to believe they were waves. There were  a few vehicles about the Lake but their owners all seemed to be heading for the hills, so we thought we'd risk skinny-dipping, slipping in behind the holly trees. That way you bathe twice. In water and in sunshine.
Spring definitely made its presence felt. Going in was rather more sudden than expected as the stones underwater were already a bit browned and slippery with muddy algal growth responding to the longer daylight hours.  And at the end of the swim, on the very edge of feeling, the water was infinitesimally warmer closer to the shore.
No danger of sun-burn though and hot cocoa was still very necessary.!
