Space - The findings from in't here...

Our blu-ray player died mid-disc last night.  (Yes I know discs are so last millennium, but so is not forking out for streaming we don't need).

A slightly odd death.  It would power up ok - so clearly the buttons attach to something that's alive - but then absolutely nothing would respond to buttons, not even turning it off again apart from at the socket.

Thus, the first job was to extract the disc from the drive.

It transpires that I had bought extra cover with it.  It died exactly 1 year after that expired. Sigh.

Bought a replacement - half the price and a third of the size, and 10 year cover for a fiver, so that'll see us out then.
