Dead Bed Deconstructed
This is the end of a single bed with drawers in the base. We took it to a charity shop with a mattress, but they couldn't take it as it did not have a fire safety label. Strangely the mattress was okay, so we left that (to my surprise).
We didn't want to take it to the tip so plan B.
Pull it apart, and salvage what we can, recycle if possible, and take the remains to the tip. The drawers will be used to go under another bed. I pulled off all the material, including hundreds of staples of various sizes, and broke up the wooden frame. Most of it was okay to keep and reuse but some bits were too full of nails so will go to the fire pit.
The photo shows one half of the base (looking like a giant letterbox) surrounded by the other half which I had already pulled apart. Only the material covering went to the tip.
