Montacute From Ham Hill

Completely finished with moderation so, by way of celebration, we took one of our favourite walks around Ham Hill in South Somerset with views over the hamstone village of Montacute. The church on the left is St Catherine's, with Montacute House, a NT property formerly the home of the Phelips family, in the middle distance. We ended up in The Phelips Arms, run by a former pupil of mine, for lunch and a pint of Palmers' Best ale. Earlier we'd called in at the Yeovil FC club shop to buy a Championship t-shirt, just as the players came out for pre-season training, which started again this week.

Worth a closer look at the House by going large.

Definitely better than sitting in the study marking all day!
