And They're Off!

It was almost Spring-like this morning, but cloudier and slightly misty when we went for a walk this afternoon. I took the light-weight 50-250mm lens, hoping for either birdlife (I've yet to manage a decent image of the kite I've seen along that route a few times) or a pseudo-macro of something/anything interesting! I did take some moss on a log, but that was eclipsed by these roe deer taking off across the field. They were a fair distance across the field when I first saw them through the hedge & had been spooked by the time I reached a lens-sized gap. We often see deer or hares on that farm (which prides itself on its conservation credentials) but this wasn't the usual group.
