On the 370 to Coogee the driver said Good Afternoon to everyone getting on the bus, then launched into a monologue, mostly to do with people not talking to each other, for the duration. Coming back, a different driver said Good Afternoon to everyone. I suspect they’ve been directed to greet passengers and it’s sending some of them crazy.

In related news, Alastair Campbell from TRIP, the most popular podcast in the world, is in Sydney. K accused me of putting on my best t-shirt in case he was at Coogee but I know he’s going to Icebergs for his morning swim.
