La Route de la Maladerie, St. Saviours

Today in my quest to bag a blip I cycled in the blazing sun from town to Perelle and back again in my lunch hour. The first signs of insanity I think. Anyway I got to the location where I wanted to take my blip, La Route de la Maladerie. Observant blippers might have noticed the connection between my blip yesterday and today - the name of the road. Maladerie is a French term for a lazaretto or leper colony. It is known that leprosy existed in the islands during the middle ages, having been brought back from the East by Crusaders. These two sites by the sea would have been where they were cared for. There is no evidence now of any buildings etc, just the name remains.
