Flood Prevention.
A truly dismal day, but when you are out walking with the Pudseys it is full of sunshine.
16 of us set out from Applerley Bridge for a 7.5 mile walk. A figure of 8 up to Calverley Woods, back to the start and then along the Leeds Liverpool canal to Rodley and then back along the river Aire to Apperley Bridge.
2 members only did half of the walk but you can see the rest of us, all happy smiling faces, in my extra photo.
Although dismal it was dry until we sat down for our picnic lunch and then it decided to drizzle. Cleared up as soon as we finished!
My main blip is of the new Leeds Flood Alleviation Scheme Phase 2.
Along the river Aire between Leeds Train Station and Apperley Bridge. It will protect 1,048 homes and 474 businesses.
As well as a new storage area more than 150,000 trees have been planted , supplied by Leeds City Council ‘s Nursery.
