Gone.

We went to Bakewell today for a briefing for National Trust staff and volunteers in the Peak District. We had originally planned to have an hour in the town, but as the weather was so miserable, we just had some lunch before the meeting. On the way we saw this sad sight: it was the last bank in the Peak District, and about 3 weeks ago , it closed. What a shame that the high street banks can’t get together and have hubs in rural areas where people can do face to face banking.
