A very enjoyable treat

Another beautiful day and perfect for an enjoyable outing with some friends. Three of us were treated to lunch at the Western Isles Hotel by the fourth in our group. This was the lady whom we took out to lunch for her 90th birthday back in early December. She is so independent that she wasn’t happy until she could return the kindness. While in Tobermory, we also did a bit of shopping and while I was waiting for the others I looked around for my blip. I wanted a different view of Tobermory and when I turned my back on the bay I found what I wanted. This is one of the four braes which connect the Main Street to the upper town and, beyond the parked cars, it is for pedestrians only and quite a steep climb. Each brae has its own descriptive name: the Back Brae, the Middle Brae, the Prison Brae and the Eas Brae (Eas, pronounced ‘ace’, means waterfall in Gaelic). I do wonder how Middle Brae got its name when there are an even number of braes.
