Great Blue Heron in Flight

With the promise of a fairly mild, sunny morning, I headed out to Huntley Meadows to work some more with the new lens.  As luck would have it, I ran into photomatt who I had not seen in ages.  He was on his way out because he had already been there for hours, but we still managed to have a great catch-up.  

It was one of the most quiet mornings I have experienced in a while, but I did manage to get this shot and another in extra.  Heron's fly pretty slowly, so right up my alley.  I happened to be on an elevated portion of the boardwalk so he ended up right at eye level.
