Sunshine

I had a lazyish morning catching up with lots of little things that have been neglected over the last few weeks.  It was a lovely sunny day so a load of washing went out on the line and dried in the sunshine and a gentle breeze. Then a friend came for coffee and stayed a couple of hours, which put paid to our plans for the afternoon.  She is going to stay in the house while we’re away as she’s had to leave the place she was renting.  Somehow it was almost 5pm and we needed to head down to the Victoria Lounge Bar for the Newcomers’ Group end of month drinks (don’t ask!!) and also to meet friends from Napier who moved to New Plymouth and are visiting Oamaru for a couple of days while on a little tour of the lower half of the South Island.  We had a very pleasant time at The Victoria then the four of us walked across the road to Cucina for dinner.  It was late when we arrived home.

Fortunately I took a photo of a hydrangea that’s past its best and is now just faded elegance.
