A newspaperman's desk

This is a corner if the shelf above my desk with some of the knick-knacks I've collected over the years.
Most were gifts, including a brochure heralding the launch of Piedmont Airlines in 1948, a bottle of hot sauce given out by a Louisiana politician, and a wooden name plate with the word "Weather" given to me by a co-worker at my first job in the business: night metro clerk at The Charlotte Observer.
The round object is a "photo wheel," which we used to size photos for print before computerized layout systems.
I love my work and I'm proud to be a newspaperman.
