The Kids Are Alright

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

Jefe and Manda have been gone for a week and a half, they've been road-tripping around the country with Chloe and German, Jefe's daughter and her new husband (they got married last year in Las Vegas).

Jefe invited Caro and me, along with some others to come over and meet them, which is kind of a privilege. As young folk, I am not sure how excited they were to meet more OLD folk so we could laugh at dad jokes and talk old folk music, but they were gracious and put up with us. 

It was nice to see Jefe being dad again. I am aware this is a big part of who he is, even if I don't get to see it often. He loves kids. And he clearly loves Chloe. They leave tomorrow and he was already melancholy about it. 

We love Jefe. 

Chloe and German have rented an Airbnb near Jefe's house and it was lovely. It backed right onto the sea and so we spent our time looking out at the sunset and laughing at the happy dog who kept running up and down and up and down, through the surf.

We even saw a SHARK! Only a little one to be sure, but three triangular fins kept swimming around and around in the waves. 

"We're gonna need a bigger Airbnb," joked Jefe. 

Chloe rolled her eyes. She's had 22 years of his jokes. 

Never mind Jefe, we still find you charming.
