A special lady

Cathie is my friend's mum and it was lovely to spend the afternoon with them. Himself still isn't feeling the best and a dry cough had us a bit worried but thankfully he tested negative for Covid this morning. It meant I could visit Cathie but he didn't want to put this little gem, who is now 90, at any risk. They were both disappointed as they had been looking forward to seeing each other.

Cathie showed me some wedding photographs today which she thought had been lost forever. After their wedding they never received any photos so had never seen these until a family member discovered them recently.

This is also the lady who made the best empire biscuits I have ever tasted. Her shortbread is also legendary.
