Alteration

Our great niece asked 'Aunty Marlane' if she could take up her wedding dress for her. Of course, Marlane is always ready to help anyone and is often taking up, or repairing trousers, altering curtains etc.
After shortening the inside petticoats our gt niece came back to check it was ok before taking up the outer part of the dress.
This one, however, is rather tricky. It has lines of sequins from top to bottom and if you just cut around they will all slide off because they are threaded in lines. So, each line has to be hand stitched to the height that is to be cut off and, being a wedding dress, you can imagine how wide that is.
A few days work there for Marlane!
