Even In The Rain

A walk in the rain can be therapeutic, a feeling of isolation, huddled against the elements, a raw freshness. But for photography, it can be challenging.

Eventually, after scanning around with my eye to the viewfinder, I was drawn to the yellow willow fronds and beyond soft reds of distant dogwoods.

By focusing on the willow with a long lens, the background details softened into impressionistic tones and pastel hues which I find appealing.
