Lewes castle

Our friends from Normandy came to stay yesterday and today we had to take them to the Newhaven ferry. Before that we took them on a visit to Lewes castle where R and I had not been before so it was a good way to spend my birthday morning. The views over Lewes from the castle keep are entrancing.
Afterwards we collected M&S from Battle and then headed home for an afternoon and evening of birthday celebrations for which J& L also turned up with Amber. Great time - just right. Given that R and I had been up early the previous day and drank a good quantity of champagne and wine, we did well to get to nearly midnight for retiring to bed. I am now officially an OAP.
