Firstly, my grateful thanks for the response to yesterdays blip, appreciated so much.

These four photos are taken from our door - not looking down the valley to the sea as I often do, but the other way looking out to our road.
Witches hats were everywhere, one way traffic, and even traffic lights at our corner (we live on a corner of two roads)....we were wondering what was going on, but as the day wore on it was obvious that some road widening is happening.  That has to be good.

Timaru has made the TV and radio news today - we were hot overnight, but at 7am this morning we soared to 28 deg, unheard of at that hour.  Hence making the news.  From then on, the temperatures declined to a rather cool day with mizzle at times.
