Day 2

Full day of visitors. Thanks to so many.

Had communion by the bedside amongst the visitors, social worker, Jason and Callum.

Reuben had some tearful moments of wakefulness. My heart bleeds. His hands are tied in every way, beholden to the care. In a position of utter trust.

I just keep telling him how much he's loved, what's happened, that the tooth fairy is coming for his teeth (without divulging that truth), about the plans to bring him home and what day it is. Reinforcing that trust. He can't speak and can barely move but I have him communicate with the blink of his eyes which is working.

Jason's birthday. Kristina bought cake and Jason and Callum went to Monsters U.
