Nature Watcher

A morning at Parkgate

Yesterday I went to Parkgate on the Wirral with the Birdwatching group.  The high tide flushes out the little creatures which is a great draw for the birds.

We were pleased to see a bittern as well as a marsh harrier and great egrets (which has a small mammal in it's beak) as well as lots of waders, geese and gulls.  There's also a photo of a rat swimming for it's life away from the birds - it made it to safety.

In the afternoon we went to Burton Marsh  Nature Reserve.  It was lovely to see lots of avocets and a flock of Black tail godwits.

The photos aren't very good as the weather was dark and grey and everything was a long way away.
