Willow Tea Rooms
Today's the day ..................... for a disappointment
One of the things we were going to do yesterday during our trip to Glasgow, was to visit the famous Willow Tea Rooms in Sauchiehall Street. This internationally renowned architectural and interior design treasure in the heart of the Glasgow was designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh for Miss Cranston and opened in 1904.
Very disappointingly however, when we arrived, there was a sign on the door saying that they were closed for staff training for the day. It was rather a tatty-looking sign - as if the decision had been taken hastily at the last minute but everything was closed up and that was that.
An excuse to return another time ......................!
