Sunshine on a plate...
Another cold, dreich day.
Attempted to introduce some sunshine into the day by making bruschetta for lunch. A perfect blend of Italian ciabatta, basil, mozzarella, garlic and tomatoes drizzled with Greek EVOO. Absolutely delicious and we certainly felt happy whilst enjoying it, but outside the rain continued to fall.
We didn't really mind though as the plan this afternoon was for D to finally have a clear out of his wardrobe. It's seven years next month since he retired and his work suits and shirts are still hanging in our wardrobe and in the wardrobe in the front bedroom. We headed upstairs armed with a roll of bin bags and the fun began.
It didn't actually take too long as D is much more decisive than me when deciding which clothes to keep and which to ditch. Six suits are heading to the charity shop and two to the clothing recycling bin. He kept one suit, which along with the new suit be bought for Emily and Sam's wedding last year, means he has two. More than enough :-)
There's a pile of jeans and chinos also headed to the charity shop apparently a 32" waist is now a pipe dream along with shirts, polo shirts and jumpers. And now at last his half of the wardrobe is tidy and ordered and there is space in the from bedroom wardrobe for friends and family visiting to hang their clothes :-)
I also took advantage of the horrible day to sort out my handbags, which was a bit like a treasure hunt as in a couple of bags that I don't use very often I found two lipsticks and a bottle of perfume that I've been looking for for ages! Yay! :-)
Chilli and nachos for dinner then an episode of Vera. D fell asleep half way through so no doubt I will have to watch it again when he's more alert.
