Portland loop

The weather forecast wasn't very good today so we decided to head off to Portland on the basis that we could do some indoor stuff if it got very wet.  
As we arrived at Portland Bill the rain started and was being blown at us by the strong wind.  We decided to go for it anyway and put on waterproof trousers, hats,  gaiters and boots.  The first half hour was tough going and slippery underfoot but then things improved and we decided to keep going. We found a nice cafe for coffee and a cheese scone about half way round the loop. The second half of the walk was in more sheltered areas. We got back to the car just as the rain and mist came in again. 17 km and we were both ready for a bath and some food when we got back to the cottage.
