Kokako …..

….. ….. ….. images painted on a van. What an amazing sight! The van was parked outside a hardware store in Queenstown Central today.
The South Island Kokako is believed to be extinct but a possible sighting recently has raised hopes again. The North Island Kokako is rare but there are sightings from time to time. It has a very melodious song. I’ve only ever managed to see them in photos, and today, on a van.

There was a very light frost this morning that didn’t cause any harm, but served as a warning! I’d covered my precious lemon tree.
