First Snow of the Year

The tiny little triangular object on the Richmond Range in the far distance is Mt Fishtail. Snow fell on the higher peaks overnight. It is tinged with the pink of the early sunrise. No wonder it was very chilly when Maisie and I set out on our walk at 6.45am this morning. The first snow on the peaks and the first time I took gloves and wore them. A warm sunny day followed, great for gardening. There was 8mm of rain in the gauge this morning.enough to water my garden but not enough to end the drought here in Marlborough.
