Determination

I had a dip for 3mins 30secs this morning in a balmy 13° water temp. It was a lovely morning and I walked into town to get my nails done as we're 'out out' on Saturday.
Spring was all around and other mural had appeared. Not sure about this one.
Spent many hours in the happylittleshed really getting down to nitty gritty and peeling off the glue for last remaining backing tiles.  I'm not sure I'm going to have enough so will have to order some more. They'll get used on other things so not a problem. Because the weather was good MrK wanted to work as late as possible so just me and FK for parents evening. Looking OK in 3 A levels, though, a little bit of extra reading and effort would get him top marks. The teachers were all very encouraging and full of praise. His maths, however, was a different story. I spoke to them before Christmas, worrying he was struggling and doesn't find it easy to ask for help. They said they'd keep an eye on him.
Tonight, she was so dismissive of him and didn't have one positive thing to say! She'd written him off and made us feel we weren't worth her time. She said she'd tried to ask him if he was OK, but as he always said yes, she stopped! She didn't want to be a crutch for him, was another comment and she won't see him continue with Maths in year 13. Fk spoke up and battled his corner and persuaded her to let him continue to see if he can turn it round. We spoke abut a tutor and she told me it would be a waste of money!! I know they expect a level of independence in 6th form, but flipping heck, that seemed brutal!! He's determined. His history teacher encouraged him to book an appointment with RAF recruitment in the Easter holidays. Sometimes it takes an outsider, for him to get motivated. Encougement, and kindness, goes such a long way.
