Old Trees, New Trees
Today I met up with the Fungus group to look at an interesting area. This former larch plantation was cut down following an infestation by a fungal disease and has been replanted with a range of native trees. It looks pretty ugly at the moment, but you have to take the long view. We didn’t find much in the way of fungi but we’ll return later in the year to see what’s growing. It was nice to get together with friends from the group as we don’t see each other much at this time of year.
