Or Primark and Poundland. The juxtaposition of the War Memorial, the Henry Moore Institute with its forthcoming exhibition 'Indifferent Matter' and the two Leeds matrons, obviously fresh from a shopping trip to both Poundland and Primark, two of the biggest low-price chains in the country, amused me enough to make me select this to blip today. The shoppers, clutching their bags of cheap purchases, appeared totally indifferent to both the War Memorial and the Institute, maybe even to each other and certainly to any controversy about the origins and ethics of their goods. Indifferent matter indeed.
