The old sea dog ....
A touch of frost this morning and a bit of sunshine. Dougie down helping feed cattle, then I took silage bales out to the spring calving cows. Had to go next door with the 12 ton trailer for a load of silage as the pit here is finished. Once I'd brought it back and tipped it here I had to then reload it into the feeder waggon to give the slats cattle 3 loads.
Headed off this afternoon to hand the VAT paperwork into my account,as it's the end of the vat quarter. After a quick coffee and chat, nipped to Gullane beach with the terrier to give him a run away from the the junior terrorist who is still making his life hell.
By the time we got back it was getting dark and the rain had started again. Remembered on the way back that I hadn't bagged up bruised barley for tomorrow,so back into the work clothes and back to work. Was back in for tea by 7. 30pm,so not too late a finish for a change. Now sitting watching a very interesting programme on BBC4 about tuna fishing in the south Pacific. The huge industrial scale of these ships does make you wonder. Keeping sheep and cattle is far more sustainable I think !
