Winter wonderland

Happy Jack received at least a foot of snow from the last storm. My friend Jim and I got up there early this morning. We went on a lovely trail that wasn't groomed but others had skied on. It was magical, not least because the wind we could see at the tops of the trees didn't make it down to us. The trail connected with a groomed loop and we finished the morning on a more busy route. Gosh, it was beautiful.
Then we stopped at the coffee shop in town for some sustenance.
At 2:00 I met up with a group of friends at another establishment for conversation. And in about 1/2 an hour I am going to another group called the Hiker Babes...lol. I've decided to join this group to meet more women and join in some social hikes and snowshoes. But tonight they are meeting at a Thai restaurant so I thought it would be a good introductory meeting. I have a couple friends who are members so I'm not flying totally alone.
Then this evening one of my friends and I are going to listen to some jazz at a brewery.  My days are not always this full but it's a really fun day.

The extra is a group of hammocks that were hanging out on the trails for anyone to use. I would certainly take advantage in the summer when they weren't full of snow and I didn't have my skis on.
