Pockets
A great day with my textile group at a workshop given by Ruth Smith on the subject of Chinese thread booklets. These are traditional "books" that are made up of a series of pockets in which Chinese women kept their store of threads and other needlework requirements. It is made of paper and the pockets are like boxes without lids that are stacked on top of each other but fold down on themselves to lie flat so the booklet can be closed. Very intriguing, but whether I'll get the time to explore the technique a bit more, I don't know.
