Busiest day of the year

All children slept elsewhere last night & we had to collate them all for Sam's birthday party today - swimming and meal at the Harvester.

Given last nights' priorities we scraped it by the skin of our teeth, and I think all the 11-year-olds had a good time. Unfortunately we delivered them home an hour and a half late which had sent a few of the parents into worry mode. (I had been unable to communicate this as my phone ran out of battery).

Lovely to have all the family home, especially James. Grateful to Michelle and Brad who provided a safe haven as it was hair-raising to hear stories of the all-nighter that James attended after the Ball. Drinks, drugs, vomit, no parental supervision and out of control kids breaking glass and throwing the contents of the fridge at each other and at the neighbours windows in the early hours!!!!

Thankfully it sounds like they avoided trouble, are both OK and had a bit of an eye-opening experience....
