Steve Harley 1951-2024

A good few years ago another singer-guitarist and I decided to try our hands at playing covers as a duo, with the idea of performing in pubs. We never got that far, but one of the songs Donald picked was Steve Harley’s (Cockney Rebel) Make Me Smile. I loved singing it, and it made me smile every time. It’s a song of pure joy and no little grace. The announcement of Steve’s death was a shock. Here is a superb live version of that song. (I trawled several vids before deciding on this.)
