Thick-legged beetle
Joined a new pilates class this morning - felt positively youthful and bendy compared with most of the participants even if my knees did creak as much as some of the others.
The garden was alive with bees again - so good to feel that we're helping them out. This beetle caught my eye as the sun shone on its metallic green body. It was well hidden in the brown grass by the pond. The tadpoles in the pond now have well developed legs.
Spent a bit of time in the kitchen in the afternoon and made a quiche and some jam tarts with the left-over pastry. Husband tackled a rhubarb crumble.
The wind dropped and the sun came out so we spent a bit of time reading in the garden. Nice end to a lazy Saturday.
