Dinner for two

The day started cloudy, the route led us to some well overgrown brambly paths, so we had to back track and detour around. The rain came at lunchtime, the route was longer than anticipated.
After 5 hours, luck would have it that we came upon a trattoria which was open. Decision "no brainer". We both tried local pasta dishes, both excellent.
We set off again with a fair distance still to go, another detour (but not so long), a few more hills, rain more persistent, we eventually arrived at our destination, an agriturismo, out of town, restaurant closed this evening.
More luck! We seem to have the best room in Veneto. Very stylish, very chic, very comfortable, terrace for when the sun comes out, and yes our room has its own sauna.
More luck! This agriturismo produces its own DOCG Superiore prosecco and it comes on the house.
More luck! We were offered a plate of cold cuts to enjoy with our prosecco instead of trudging out into the rain. Music and lights and just the two of us, no-one else staying and the hostess went home after checking we had everything we needed. I'll say!
