Saturday and Sunday
I thought I’d do a back blip to cover the weekend, because it was a busy but good one.
Saturday was spent clearing out the old kitchen next door. A job Jon started earlier in the week, but with a skip delivered Wednesday we were able to start binning the old units, tiles and all sorts of other rubbish. The ‘new’ kitchen, or part of it, now has to be planned & fitted, but not until electric sockets are moved and some new ones added. Something Jon and Henry will do. Jon started to sand the walls where the old tiles were, and will be painting ceiling and walls in advance of any structural fittings. I sorted kitchen contents with a bit of Mollie’s help. In general it was an exhausting day. Mollie, Henry and I took a walk to the allotment and when we got back Jon had cut the grass in both gardens. He doesn’t stop.
So we decided on fish and chips on the pier, followed by £2 squandered in the amusement arcades to finish off our day!
Sunday, the weather was grim, but it didn’t stop us meeting with Dan and Henry for coffee. Mollie was busy and we are missing Viki now she has started her new job away in Coventry, so we will have to make up for it at Easter when we will see her. Dan is getting used to the drive between Norfolk and Daventry!
It was drizzly and I spent all day sorting out my office lay out….again! Third time since moving in there. The truth is I don’t want it as a work space at all, I just want crafts. I prepared some cards to do with the Scouts on Wednesday- it is going to be Jon’s last scout meeting. He has stepped down after a lot of years volunteering- at least 29, when we moved to Linton. I think he has more than done his bit.
Dan came over for dinner in the evening. Just 4 for lasagne, so plenty for us all. And just like that, another weekend was over.
Thinking about booking some campsites to get away….first a weekend at Sandringham in April. It’s not far so we get a full weekend break without much travelling and we can give our caravan an airing. Can’t wait!!
