Blast from the past
I was waiting outside the Post Office in Halkirk when I noticed over the other side of the road that the old phone box still stood. I have fond memories of using it to ring my mum before the house had a phone, and of ringing for the odd taxi when I was out and about, yes this was back before we all had the internet in my pocket!
I spent many hours of my student days chatting to my mum on the phone, I used to ring her and she rang me back, half an hour was a quick call! my children have no idea how to keep in contact as they never had too. I hope they learn when they go away! we shall see!
At least it isn't a 'library' the way some south have tried...
